| Description | This will be a cooperative effort with the Illinois EPA and ISAWWA.The ISAWWA held meetings, which involved a number of small public water systems with operational problems, MCL violations, or treatment technique violations. One purpose was to identify tools, which the participants felt would benefit them in improving the ability of the supply to operate in compliance. One of the principal tools identified is a means for the public water supply to perform self-evaluations of the supply on a routine basis, using Illinois EPA materials to assess the operational and compliance status of the facility. A Self Evaluation Tool will be developed that will allow small systems to perform self-evaluation on a routine basis. The end product will be flexible and sophisticated enough to allow it to be tailored to the specific treatment and distribution components of individual systems. The information will be available on a CD with an accompanying workbook, and on the internet. |
